The Governor’s House

Enter a medieval house, completely renovated with contemporary facilities and discover a new educational experience in the heart of the castral village of Najac: a unique experience to share!

Entrance door of the former castral village, house of a family of merchants in the Middle Ages, then presumed residence of the governor of Rouergue, the building now hosts the public, on 450m², to discover the heritage riches of the Pays d’art et d’histoire of the Bastides du Rouergue

With family, friends, alone or with others, let yourself be told the history of this territory by following a playful and interactive path!

The permanent exhibition

After flying over the map on the ground of our territory, discover through four rooms the identity of the Country of Art and History. The playful and interactive itinerary takes you through the discovery of the rooms of the house and the exhibition allows visitors and young ones to explore the landscape, historical, urban and architectural resources of this territory of the Aveyron.

Games booklets available free of charge at the reception allow young visitors (8-12 years) to discover the exhibition differently.
